A Fall Update

This seems to be a great way to keep up with Mere so I am going to try it too!

We had a visit from Uncle Frank and Aunt Graceanne this October. They are busy making their way across the US to visit friends and came up to Michigan to pay the clan a visit. We shared some wine and many conversations late into the evening. What tales they tell and how many places have they seen. It is so neat for the kids to hear all of that. The questions fly and who knows, it might set off a little travel bug in each of them.
A trip to COLUMBUS OHIO

We also made a great trip to Columbus OH to visit Grammie and Pa and Papa. There was a great airshow there and is is only a 5 hour drive for us. What we did find out is that there is no direct route from Kalamazoo to Columbus...I guess it is not a huge trade route. On the way down we got behind some tractors and combines ( I just found out what they are!) We met in a city outside of Columbus called Grove City and planned our activities from there. The hotel had an indoor pool (a huge plus with 2 busy kids) and Columbus was only 10 minutes from where we were staying.

Here we are at a yummy steak house for dinner.

There was a lovely river and riverwalk that went right through Columbus.

Elizabeth, Grammie and I visited a replica of the Santa Maria (Get it? Columbus...) which was very cool. I am glad I was not an explorer.

We also went to a cool area called short north- kind of an artsy area with shops and lots of restaurants. Really pretty to walk around.

Our last visit was to the COSI museum, a hands on really cool science museum. We could have stayed all day! Some very cool experiences---especially the one where you stick to the wall like spider man. We even got PA to try it!

Scott is riding on a high wire unicyle with a huge counterbalance.

In the submarine part of the COSI musuem...
Pulling herself up on a rope with a pulley!

Great to see everyone!
